Accessibility Statement

As a service provider, we have a duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments so disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage using our site. This page tells you honestly where we stand today.

We are working towards WCAG 2.2 level AA, the current UK standard. verv.co.uk is partially conformant: some parts meet the standard, some do not yet, and this page names the gaps rather than glossing over them.

• Every image on the site carries alt text.
• The page language is correctly set for screen readers.
• Every page has one clear heading structure.
• Main content, navigation and footer are all properly marked up for assistive technology.

• The property search field has no accessible label for screen reader users. It relies on placeholder text alone.
• There is no skip to main content link, so keyboard and screen reader users have to tab through the full header and navigation on every page.
• There is no text-size or high-contrast control built into the site, though browser zoom and operating system settings work as normal.
• Listing photos and floor plans are uploaded by landlords, and we do not currently generate alt text or a written description for them. This is the biggest real gap for a visually impaired renter, since photos and floor plans carry most of the information about a property.

We are prioritising alt text and structured descriptions for landlord-uploaded floor plans, since that is where the most information is currently locked behind an image with no alternative.
